Who I am
I specialize in stress and burnout because I understand pressure from the inside — as an expat, as a high achiever and as a psychologist who has worked in demanding clinical environments.
As an expat myself, growing up between Australia and Germany and repeatedly moving between countries, cultures, and environments, I understand how demanding it can be to build a life somewhere new while continuing to meet high expectations. I work fluently in English and German and I bring a personal understanding of the pressure many international professionals experience when success, adaptation and isolation overlap.
Academically, I trained in Psychology at Radboud University Nijmegen, graduating with Honors, before completing my Master’s degree in Neuropsychology at Maastricht University. My early work included research into mindfulness-based approaches for stress and anxiety, as well as practical work as a guided meditation instructor — combining scientific understanding with tools for emotional regulation and resilience. This led me into clinical work in Germany and finally moving to Switzerland.
The most defining step in my career was becoming Lead of Neuropsychology in a Coma Recovery Unit at Rehab Basel, Switzerland. In that role, I worked with patients in critical neurological conditions between life and death. I supported families facing shock, fear, grief and impossible uncertainty. This role also carried significant responsibility on a day to day basis: making difficult medical decisions under pressure in a multidisciplinary team, helping families navigate uncertainty, and staying grounded when the emotional and clinical stakes were high.
This role shaped the way I understand stress today. I have seen how pressure affects not only performance, but also sleep, concentration, emotional control, relationships, identity and the body itself. I have also learned that people who carry responsibility often wait too long before seeking support.
My work today is built around helping expats, high achievers and professionals under pressure regain clarity, stability and control over their stress.
